ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Vulcan Systems Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. This position supports the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Center (SSC) launch services for AATS missions.

The team is looking for a systems engineer with expertise in mission assurance, launch operations, and data analytics. You'll help the Space Force redefine the future of Assured Access to Space (AATS), supporting both the current ULA fleet and integrating new Launch Service Providers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and enhance Space Systems Command (SSC) Vulcan systems & data integration.
  • Data Engineering: Create data infrastructure from multiple different customer environments to collect, store, or analyze data cohesively. 
  • Metrics & Analytics Specialist:  Model data to provide clean, accurate datasets - while identifying gaps, trends, and anomalies.
  • Recommend & implement improvements in process/systems to increase data integration amongst the multiple IT systems currently employed.
  • Create VBA scripts for processing data imports in cloud based systems for data analysis & presentation.
  • Recommend updates to systems integration & architecture to create better processes for enhanced data integration.
  • Perform technical analyses of systems engineering products such as Requirements, Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews, Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports, Systems Engineering Master Plans, Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) submittals, and others as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
  • 10 + years' experience in systems & database engineering with experience in program/project management.
  • Working knowledge of space launch systems and processes.
  • Experience with developing and creating database management systems.
  • Experience with systems integration, linking databases & software systems to share data & processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with launch vehicle programs highly desired.
  • Experience with agile software products, such as Jira/Confluence, highly desired.
  • Experience with Warp Core (previously known as Foundry) highly desired.
  • General experience or background in risk management processes highly desired.

Clearance Requirements:

  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, machine and computer printer.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $114,100.00-$191,100.00.
