We are currently seeking a motivated Vibration Analyst with an active Secret clearance to join our team in Bethesda, MD. This is an On-Site position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conduct vibrational analysis of systems and equipment related to submarine and/or surface vessel systems, specifically focusing on rotating machinery and vibration analysis.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex vibrational, electrical, and electronic problems using specialized tools and analysis equipment.
Analyze system performance and conduct tests to identify faults and malfunctions in both equipment and systems.
Collaborate with a team of technicians and engineers to develop and implement effective repair strategies and solutions.
Follow established guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and quality standards.
Document all maintenance and repair activities, including test results, repairs performed, and parts used, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in submarine monitoring systems and technologies to ensure that analysis and methodologies remain current.
Write, edit, and review product integration and testing documentation to streamline the production of monitoring systems.
Perform moderately complex technical functions related to the support of engineering activities such as system setup, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, and prototype models.
Conduct engineering/development tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in general research work. Diagnose and correct electronic circuitry malfunctions.
Assist in the development of vibration analysis methodology, provide design details, and recommend modifications to engineering designs.
Prepare instructional guides for repairing, calibrating, and maintaining equipment and systems as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Physics or a related field.
Four (4) or more years of hands-on experience working with U.S. Navy ships, including experience with rotating machinery and vibration analysis.
Four (4) or more years of experience in system analysis and vibration diagnostics in complex environments (preferably in maritime or defense sectors).
Four (4) or more years of experience coordinating U.S. Navy ship operations with a test and evaluation program agenda.
Ability to travel within the continental United States and occasionally to overseas locations for sea testing and evaluations. (Up to 20%)
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated track record in project management and successful task completion in a Navy ship environment.
Knowledge and experience working with complex systems in maritime environments, particularly with submarine and surface vessel systems.
Experience working with systems and equipment for submarine and surface vessel operations.
Proficiency in operating specialized analysis equipment used for vibration testing.
Experience with acoustic evaluations at sea.
Experience in providing training and technical guidance for junior personnel or teams working on vibration analysis and related tasks.
Experience in quality control processes and compliance with Navy standards.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an Active Secret clearance prior to starting this position.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time, working at a desk or computer terminal.
Occasional movement within the office for communication and accessing resources.
Ability to lift and transport materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, such as presentation materials, test equipment, or other outreach-related items.
Work in confined spaces and challenging environments as required for submarine maintenance and repair.
