Description & Requirements

ManTech is seeking an Unmanned Systems (UxS) Project Manager in support of the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) Science and Technology (S&T) Division

This individual will support the Robotics & Autonomy (R&A) Branch with a wide variety of tasks, including research and managing developmental projects related to ground combat operations.  Qualified candidates must demonstrate a broad knowledge of infantry tactics, particularly at the company and battalion levels, and the employment of manned and unmanned assets.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Under the supervision of senior project managers, assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects and related tasks such as the development of project plans, timelines, and allocation of resources.
  • Help to schedule meetings, track timelines, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Participate in technology demonstrations and formal testing events, both in a lab and field environment.
  • Maintain project documentation such a meeting notes, progress reports, and after-action reports ensuring submission requirements are met and records are up to date.
  • Work closely with Future and Current Operations planners to ensure experiment plans include UxS operations.
  • Participate and potentially lead new equipment training for UxS technologies fielded to the operating forces.
  • Work closely with the Experiment Teams during the experiment planning process and be prepared to deploy with those teams to CONUS and OCONUS locations to participate in data collection and analysis efforts.
  • Travel to support all planning, coordination, and experimentation events as required; travel up to 25%.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years’ experience.  A total of 6 years’ experience without a degree.
  • Familiar with UxS operations within a USMC infantry unit.
  • Broad knowledge of UAS capabilities and limitations of Group 1 and 2 platforms.
  • Broad knowledge of adversary and Commercial-of-the Shelf UxS systems.
  • Tactical and technical knowledge and experience with UAS operations to facilitate safe integration and deconfliction with live fire and manned flight operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Proven ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively is critical, as is the ability to professionally prepare and present documents for senior military officials.
  • Strong computer skills including demonstrated fluency in all Microsoft programs, to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding initiative, organizational skills, team-oriented mindset, and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, diverse, and virtual team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI clearance
  • 10+ years of operational experience within the United States Marine Corps
  • Experience within the acquisition framework, particularly focused on S&T/RDT&E for the development of new equipment focused on employment for the USMC.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Visio

Clearance Requirements:

  • Current DOD Secret clearance, with ability to acquire TS/SCI

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
