MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Test Lead to join our team in Stafford, VA.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in software testing, with extensive experience and deep technical knowledge in testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and quality assurance practices.

  • Leads the development and implementation of comprehensive test strategies, plans, and processes across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, industry best practices, and agile-informed development methodologies.

  • Provides expert guidance and mentorship to Testers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

  • Leads the design and implementation of complex test environments, overseeing the execution of various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, security, and usability.

  • Analyzes test results, identifies defects and issues, and provides detailed reports and recommendations to improve software quality and mitigate risks.

  • Champions the adoption of advanced testing techniques, such as test automation, performance testing, and security testing, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to integrate testing activities seamlessly into the software development lifecycle.

  • Stays abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in software testing, and provides direction and mentorship to subordinate staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in field necessary to assume Test Lead or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree

  • 12 years of experience with 9+ years of relevant Test Lead experience.

  • 7+ years of experience in software testing, with 3+ years in a lead role.

  • Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, including advanced techniques like exploratory testing, risk-based testing, and model-based testing.

  • Proven ability to design and implement comprehensive test strategies for complex software systems.

  • Extensive experience with various testing levels and types, including performance, security, and usability testing.

  • Expertise in test automation frameworks and tools, with a strong understanding of scripting languages and automation best practices.

  • Experience with building and leading high-performing Testing Teams.

  • Strong knowledge of agile-informed and DevOps principles, with experience in integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.

  • ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager certification or equivalent.

  • Must have a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Contributions to the testing community through publications, presentations, or open-source projects.

  • Experience with emerging testing technologies and trends, such as AI-powered testing and test data generation.

  • Experience with testing in regulated industries, such as healthcare or finance.

  • Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).

  • Experience with security testing tools and techniques (e.g., OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite).

  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time.

  • Must be able to deliver clear and effective communication verbally and via email, phone, and virtual communication platforms to interface with co-workers and customers.
