ManTech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Telecommunications Engineering Specialist to join our team remotely.

In this role you will configure voice, video, and data communications systems, and conducts installation and post-installation service and maintenance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, configure, install, and maintain telecommunications systems, including VoIP, PBX, unified communications platforms, and network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex telecommunications issues, including network connectivity, voice quality, and system performance problems.
  • Conduct regular system audits and performance monitoring to ensure optimal operation and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement and manage telecommunications security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers for equipment procurement, service delivery, and technical support.
  • Participate in planning and executing telecommunications projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant telecommunications regulations and company policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in telecommunications engineering, with hands-on experience in voice and data networks.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications protocols (e.g., SIP, H.323, RTP, SS7) and network fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching).

  • Proficiency with VoIP systems, PBX systems (e.g., Cisco Call Manager, Avaya Aura), and unified communications platforms.
  • Experience with network diagnostic tools and monitoring systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA Collaboration, CCNP Collaboration, CompTIA Network+, JNCIA-Junos).
  • Experience with wireless communication technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi, cellular networks).
  • Knowledge of cloud-based telecommunications solutions.
  • Familiarity with network security principles and practices.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD suitability is required prior to starting this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.


The projected compensation range for this position is $68,800.00-$114,700.00.
