MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team in Patuxent River, MD. This is an onsite position.

This role supports NAVAIR’s Systems Engineering Department (SED). SED is a key part of NAVAIR’s efforts to acquire and sustain naval aviation capabilities and plays a crucial role in the development, testing, and support of naval aircraft and weapons systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Applying programmatic and technical expertise to identify, design, and test practical solutions to engineering problems; guiding the development of modern complex systems; and employing systems engineering methods and tools throughout the systems development process

• Overseeing software acquisition, managing requirements, and optimizing software workflows

• Conducting research, development, analysis, and documentation of technologies in support of Aircraft, Weapon, and Integrated Systems Acquisition

• Evaluating the technical performance, mission suitability, and acquisition risks of aircraft, weapon, and integrated systems throughout the full acquisition process and program lifecycle

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university

• 3+ years of recent, relevant experience

• Demonstrated experience in an engineering discipline

• Ability to translate software requirements into system-level requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with Navy aircraft and/or weapons systems.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have an active Secret security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• Tasking is primarily computer based. The person in this position must be able to operate and perform tasking on a PC.

• Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers, and management through email, phone, and other virtual communication methods (e.g. TEAMS, ZOOM).
