ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. The position is onsite.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintaining, implementing, and documenting technology solutions in a wide variety of application and/or service areas, including client/server solutions, VDI solutions, client/server applications, and new technologies as identified by the customer
Solutions include developing full ITIL Service Design Packages, including documenting requirements, creating SLAs, developing Capacity Management plans, IT Service Continuity Plans, and other areas composing ITIL service design
Maintaining and deploying enterprise level disaster recovery solutions
Maintaining and deploying enterprise class SAN deployments and backup infrastructures, including Data-at-Rest
Maintaining and deploying new applications and services to the infrastructure
Writing implementation and design documents describing how security features are implemented
Participating in a Change Management processes
Providing IT Systems and Applications Engineering support for a large, distributed IT infrastructure
Providing direction and guidance to less experienced systems engineers
Responsibility for investigating and resolving operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel
Providing IT Systems Engineering support on a wide range of technologies, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat, HBSS, Splunk, customer line-of-business applications, VMware vCenter, HP Secure Printing, HP Blade Servers, HP SANs, Certificate Services, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policies and Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux Operating Systems
Other tasks may include requirements specification, performance modeling, end-to-end functional analysis, cost estimation, and joint application design
Participate in technology evaluation and reengineering teams to support strategy-definition and continuous process improvement activities
Provide SME input to the customer and PM in support project
Participate in the design, implementation, and management of workload automation initiatives
Adhere to firm Change Management, Problem Management policies and familiarity with ITIL or other formalized IT operations foundations
Participating in processes throughout all phases of ITIL Service Lifecycle, including submitting Change Requests
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in an IT or STEM field; an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
2+ years of experience as an enterprise systems administrator in a client or server environment, including deployment automation tools
DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification required (CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+, CND or SSCP)
DoD 8570 computing environment certification within 6 months of hire
Extensive knowledge of Windows based systems including Hardware, software, networking, and storage
Proficiency in PowerShell and/or other scripting languages
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as MCSE: Core Infrastructure, VMware: VCTA – CMA
Willingness to work after normal duty hours (nights and weekends) during scheduled maintenance windows 1 to 2 times a month on average
Hyper-V, Failover Cluster experience
Commvault experience
McAfee EPO, DLP experience
Microsoft Windows Deployment Server or equivalent experience
Clearance Requirements:
US Citizenship required and an active TS clearance adjudicated within the last 6 years
Candidate must be open to Poly if selected by the customer
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time
Must be able to move about inside the office and datacenter to access IT equipment
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
Must be able to observe and detect employee deviations from established policy
