Description & Requirements

ManTech is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Systems Engineer III

in Ft. Meade, MD.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Focusing on DoD 5000.02 artifacts and documentation to perform requirements analysis, including decomposition of high-level requirements into artifacts assignable during Agile program increments and sprints.
  • Applying systems engineering principles throughout the systems lifecycle phases: concept, development, production, utilization, support, and retirement.
  • Interacting with ICON project teams regarding systems engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
  • Communicating with other Technical Direction Plan (TDP) project personnel, Government stakeholders, and senior executives.
  • Technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288, to include: Technical Process Area, Enterprise Process Area, and Agreement Process Area.
  • Contributing to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation, such as Systems Engineering Plans, initial capability documents, requirements specifications, and interface control documents.
  • Ensuring regulatory and requirements compliance of IT systems.
  • Supervising and mentoring subordinate project and ICON Innovation Collaborative (IIC) staff.

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related discipline and nine (9) years of systems engineering experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in STEM or related discipline.
  • Relevant industry standard certifications such as INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), 
  • Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) or OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional–Advanced (OCSMP-A) certifications.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies

Security clearance requirement:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI with ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
