ManTech seeks a motivated, career, and customer-oriented System Administrator to join our team at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington. This is an on-site position.
As a System Administrator, you will play a key role in providing IT support for various Windows-based technologies, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems while supporting mission-critical operations. You will work in a dynamic environment and have opportunities for technical growth and innovation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide IT systems support for a wide range of Windows-based technologies, including Microsoft Server 2016/2019/2022, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and Group Policy Editor.
Manage the installation and integration of hardware, system fixes, updates, and enhancements.
Resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex or non-routine issues.
Write and maintain documentation for supported services, processes, and configurations.
Maintain relationships with customers with diverse needs and offer solutions tailored to their requirements.
Review, plan, test, and implement Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs).
Support the development and maintenance of Operating Systems by ensuring the system's stability and security.
Provide recommendations for system improvements and troubleshooting.
Work closely with other IT professionals, contractors, and vendors to optimize the operational capabilities of the systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related scientific discipline (or 6 years of related work experience).
2+ years of relative experience in IT system administration or related fields.
Must possess an active IAT II Cybersecurity Workforce IA Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, CCNA Security, CySA+, etc.).
Must be able to obtain an Operating System Certificate within 6 months of hire (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience installing and configuring Linux/RHEL platforms.
Experience with troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software interoperability issues.
Proficiency in operating within a large-scale and complex IT environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse customer base.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active Secret security clearance prior to starting this position.
Must be able to obtain Top Secret clearance within one (1) year of starting this position.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
Occasional movement within the office for communication and accessing resources.
Ability to work in confined spaces or challenging environments as required.
Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as printers.
Must be able to occasionally lift materials or office equipment up to 25 lbs.
