ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented System Safety Specialist to support our contract under Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) out of Quantico, VA.
ManTech is responsible for assisting our Government customer and ensuring that material solutions developed or acquired by MCSC are system engineered, integrated, interoperable, and certified to provide the warfighter with equipment required to accomplish their mission.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Duties included work planning, special assignments, scheduling, and providing guidance on technical and administrative matters.
Review inspection reports, ergonomics surveys, and contractor deliverables to ensure accuracy and provide recommendations.
Examine and evaluate organizational safety program management based on knowledge of Marine Corps, OSHA, State, DoD, and other Federal Safety Standards as they relate to the installation’s safety program.
Provide ESOH recommendations for acquisition areas of responsibility (e.g., hazard tracking systems, risk acceptances, safety releases, battery data packages, National Environmental Policy Act decision memorandums, etc.), and verify that DoD programs adhere to regulations and best practices such as DoDI 5000.02 and MIL-STD-882E.
Provide independent analysis of programmatic ESOH efforts, ensuring ESOH efforts are integrated into overall systems engineering activities, providing integrated logistics assessments and milestone and fielding recommendations, providing subject matter expert (SME) review and recommendations for acquisition program safety requirements.
Ensure consistent compliance with all applicable safety requirements during an investigation pertaining to law, regulations, orders, policies and procedures.
Investigate mishap, property damage and near miss incidents to engage in the series of events and gain an understanding of the causes to advance towards the effective actions to mitigate or eradicate the hazards.
Advise numerous Commands and Units on safety issues involving recreation and off-duty safety, mishap prevention and controls, the use and care of personal protective equipment, hazard communication, and other potential problem areas that could lead to injury, damage to property, or tort liability. Participate in review boards
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelors Degree and at least 2 years of system safety experience. (Additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.)
At least 2 years of experience with DoDI 5000.02 and MIL-STD 882E safety guidance and best practices
At least 2 years of experience with Hazard Assessments and Risk Management
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with OSHA regulations.
USMC experience in System Safety or Weapons Safety
Security Clearance Required:
Must be a US Citizen and have an active Secret
