Description & Requirements

ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Administrator to join our team at Ft. Detrick in Frederick, MD. This person will work with an experienced project team performing key tasks for a suite of systems that are instrumental in supporting the management of Medical Logistics (MEDLOG) business processes in Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs), warehouses and in-field environments. This is a hybrid position - working onsite three days per week and 2 days from home.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform sustainment activities for data migration and conversion efforts focused on solutions to achieve the Defense Health Agency (DHA) goal of a single financial application for all Defense Health Programs
  • Support provisioning and maintenance of additional instances of development and test environments to support ongoing migration efforts
  • Support provisioning and setup of test and training systems
  • Support implementation of additional production servers
  • Provide onsite and remote system administration to ensure production servers are operational
  • Perform systems/software maintenance upgrades
  • Troubleshoot server and assist in troubleshooting network connectivity issues

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Must have an IAT level 1 (8570) certification (such as A+, CCNA Security, Network+, or SSCP) or higher
  • Two years of experience with administration of Windows Server and Red Hat Linux
    • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and outstanding customer service skills working with senior and executive level staff
    • Experience building and configuring physical and virtual servers
    • Demonstrated experience developing technical solutions for IT issues and / or developing plans to integrate new technologies and IT requirements
    • Demonstrates the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions to software problems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with administration of one or more of the following:
    • Apache HTTPD
    • Nagios or Splunk Agent
    • LogRhythm Agent
    • Cygwin
    • Experience in DevSecOps practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience supporting DoD health care systems
  • Experience in writing automation test cases to validate system requirements

Clearance Requirements: 

  • Must be a current US citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email/ phone/ virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations
  • ​Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one work site to another
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers
  • Working with computers
  • Must be able to lift and move hardware weighing up to 50 pounds
