Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior DevOps RHEL IaC Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Efficient teams make the most of their time by limiting manual process and implementing automation across systems. Our focus is to shortening the time it takes to get critical tools and infrastructure developed and deployed. We need to enable our users to make better decisions using data through a continuously adaptive, customer centric environment. As part of this vision we will implement and manage DevOps tools, automation, and private cloud resources. You'll work with the team to implement continuous integration and delivery to limit manual testing and troubleshooting.
As part of major technological refresh the program is taking on an Infrastructure as Code approach to building out the next generation environment. We are looking for well experienced senior level resources to help drive the implementation across the platform. The system will be built on commodity Intel hardware leveraging the RHEL Linux platform utilizing an array of open source products inclusive of Terraform and Chef as key building blocks.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Deep expertise with IaC methodologies and tooling inclusive of Terraform and Chef
Experienced in the utilization of development workload management tools such as Jazz/Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), GitLab, Urban Code
Extensive experience working with DevOps tools, automation, and private cloud resources
Significant exposure and skills with open source CI/CD tools to automate the development and deployment delivery processes
Management of code base deployment to multiple on premise development, test and production environments
Engineer, configure, and automate infrastructure build and deployment strategies
Work with various teams to establish effective development processes to maximize development throughput within a CI/CD pipeline
Build experience in automation and deployment processes supporting software development that will spur innovation
Maintains a thorough and well-rounded knowledge of all Linux operating systems with Red Hat version 8 expertise along with a solid understanding of the mechanisms required for distribution of new and upgraded software.
Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies to optimize the Linux operating system environment and associated infrastructure automation tools
Works with senior staff to recommend and design system architecture and topology perspectives building and supporting the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) enterprise
Works closely with various IT groups including but not limited to project management, database administration, network, security, and application teams assisting in the overall architectural design
Provide regular status reports, gather requirements, and provide input into the infrastructure products that are being procured and built out within the enterprise
Maintains operating system, infrastructure design documents along with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for system administration activities
Support and participate in a 7 day 24hr 365 day on call support rotation
Provide root-cause analysis for recurring or critical problems
Mitigation and documentation of security POAMs
Minimum Qualifications:
7+ years’ system administration, engineering, and systems automation experience
A 4-year degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or 6 years equivalent experience
7+ years’ Technical leadership in Enterprise Architecture (EA), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and IT Service Delivery
7+ years’ experience working in a development and test environment supporting team tooling and administration
7+ years’ years of RHEL systems administration experience, or equivalent experience
Experience RHEL 7.0 or later, performance monitoring and tuning tools, installation options, problem determination and recovery, and AIX security
Experience developing, configuring, and delivering COTS solutions in support of enterprise IT infrastructure design (e.g. network, storage, virtualization, database, 3rd party tools)
Experience working with Data Analytics methodologies and technologies (Predictive Analytics, Distributed Storage, Data Virtualization, Data Integration, Data Preprocessing, Data Quality)
Experience in assessing Security findings identified by tools like Tenable, Burp, AppScan
Experience in configuration, security, failover, and optimization of servers
Experience working closely with Release Management and Automation Testing teams
Experience working in an Agile work environment with exposure to the SAFe methodology
Ideal candidate is also a quick learner; must be able to adapt to quickly evolving technology and priority changes
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong security background
Experience with Python
Experience with Ansible
Docker/Kubernetes experience
Experience with NIM, satellite server and Kickstart
Experience with Virtual IOS concepts and applications
Experience with enterprise backup/restore architectures and concepts including TSM as it pertains to AIX and RHEL
Experience with Logical Volume Manager, Storage concepts and SAN provisioning
Security Clearance Requirements:
Active DOD Secret clearance and ability to obtain agency suitability clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain stationary up to 75% of the time in an office environment.
Must be able to traverse between one work location to another to accomplish work duties
Must be able to operate IT equipment such as a computer, copier, fax machine, etc.
Must be able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to exchange information accurately.
Must be able to read, review and effectively respond to electronic as well as verbal communications.
