ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Spacecraft Integrator to join our team in Cape Canaveral, FL area.  This is a fulltime onsite position.

This position provides Launch System integration support to the SSC AATS NSSL Space Vehicle Mission Assurance (SVMA)/Launch Vehicle Mission Assurance (LVMA) Teams as part of the System Engineering & Integration II Contract.  Work will include launch base support to various Government spacecraft programs along with coordination efforts at their respective launch processing facilities.  It may also include spacecraft to launch vehicle integration efforts with the United Launch Alliance and SpaceX families of launch vehicles, as well any new Launch Service Providers as they are brought on contract.  This position also serves as the primary launch site expert for the government mission management team on mission-related technical and operational requirements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of concepts, designs, test plans, processes, procedures, and system documentation. Evaluate and produce technical products for NSSL launch operations, rehearsals, and anomaly scenarios.

  • Provide launch mission status updates, develop mission milestone readiness reviews and support programmatic working groups and mission planning sessions.

  • Evaluate and assess Launch Service Provider (LSP) activities, problem resolution, and launch campaign planning.

  • Develop and maintain program plans, manage console operations, and analyze real-time launch vehicle data.

  • Identify and verify mission unique requirements and launch vehicle/satellite interface requirements.

  • Provide technical assessments and support for payload integration and facilitate information flow between various organizations and Govt mission management team.

  • Support innovation, process improvement, and project planning to enhance mission support capabilities and efficiency for the 5th Space Launch Squadron.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline.

  • 10+ years DoD/Launch/Range/Spacelift Integration experience.

  • Experienced in system engineering and project management and working with senior Government program managers and various contractor support staffs as well as in a multi-disciplinary, geographically separated team environment.

  • Familiarity with Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) facilities, processes, providers, and operations.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, operational environment and react to real-world system outages by applying critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.

  • Flexibility to support mission operations during non-standard business hours/days with expectation to perform those duties over multiple attempts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current TS/SCI clearance.

  • Specialization in areas such as key communication efforts and technologies, digital tools and architectures, workflow or task automation, systems engineering, program management, strategic cloud-based computing platforms and applications, or ad hoc solutions.  

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and knowledgeable on Platform 1 tools (i.e. Confluence, MatterMost, Jira).

  • Effective communication skills with ability to provide briefings to large groups and leadership.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Current/active SECRET clearance prior to starting this position

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • The person in this this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • The person in this position may occasionally be required to support mission integration meetings and walkdowns at various launch processing facilities.
