Currently, ManTech is actively seeking a motivated, customer-oriented Software Development Engineer to join our team at Cape Canaveral, Florida.
ManTech's Air Force and Space Division is recruiting highly talented candidates to support a contract that provides full life cycle support to the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) Assured Access to Space (AATS) National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program (formerly the Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) program). We provide services and support in a multitude of areas, including Systems Engineering & Integration, Acquisition & Program Management Support, Mission Integration Management, System Safety & Environmental Engineering, Systems Security & Information Assurance, Launch Schedule and Risk Management, Digital Engineering, Certification of New Entrant Launch Vehicles, and more.
Performs system and subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation, and subsystem and system integration and tests for a system. Participates in software requirement review, preliminary and critical design, integration readiness review, and software acceptance review. Acts as technical lead for pre-proposal, proposal, and existing program efforts. Involvement in business development includes briefing customers on company capabilities. Supports program management office in technical role. Represents the organization as the prime customer contact on contracts or projects. May research the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive issues. Interacts with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines. May provide technical guidance to lower level software engineers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for software web applications required to support the 5th Space Launch Squadron. Involves maintaining, extending or rewriting existing applications, or creating new applications which can be accessed from multiple groups, bases and domains.
- The Software Engineer will have knowledge of modern web development strategies and techniques to support existing projects and future application development. The work is mostly on complex projects integrating multiple systems and includes all phases of the software lifecycle.
- Principal activities include: Provide support for team-developed applications; design and develop web or cloud-hosted applications; investigate and identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements to our software development processes and for the enterprise processes our applications support; application, server and tool administration.
- Develop and provide user and leadership training for existing or newly developed applications.
- Provide regular status updates to customer technical leads, and participate in and lead agile software development methodologies.
- Work as integral team member of the software development team including individual and virtual pair programming.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer, programmer, or software developer with 1 year DoD or Launch/Range experience.
- Development experience using the following or equivalent: VueJS, GIT, JSON, HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript, asynchronous programming, UX design, C#, Database Management.
- 1.5 years of Software Development experience may be accepted in lieu of each 1 year of education/degree requirement.
- Experience using software development planning tools, and task automation tools.
- CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Self-motivated with synergistic approach to team success.
- U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional desired qualifications include development experience with the following: CI/CD, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, Visual Studio 2017 or Later, Angular JS, ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web API, Windows Identity Framework, .NET 4 or later, .NET Core 3.0, REST, Python, Flask, Web Services, Active Directory, virtualization (VMware), virtualized architecture, SQL Server with SSRS, performance enhancement, backup/recover, and scheduled jobs, Power Automate, Jira, Confluence, Mattermost, website design and layout, digital tools and architectures, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analysis, administration of Windows Server 2012 R2 or later, Windows Server 2022, Internet Information Server 7.5 or later, and familiarity with Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) facilities, processes, providers and operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, commercial business applications, and cloud-hosted platforms and applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret clearance required to start
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
