ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Software Developer to join our team in Arlington, VA. This is a hybrid position.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of GUI development, leading the user interface enhancements for the US Air Force's critical Airbase Defense - Assessment & Resiliency Modeling (AD-ARM) suite. This sophisticated Modeling & Simulation software plays a vital role in providing analysis and decision support to the Secretary of the Air Force and other key stakeholders.
As a member of a larger Modeling & Simulation software development team, the lead GUI software developer guides future development and enhancements to the user interface for existing USAF Modeling & Simulation software.
Works with internal technical staff and external customer experts to analyze user interface and software requirements, design creative and visually rich solutions, and lead the implementation and fielding of GUI software applications. Participates in the development of software user manuals and technical documentation. Works closely with team members to learn and understand our group’s software products and customer’s analysis domain. Assists technical and analytic staff with running the software.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participate in Agile development methodologies using a variety of software development tools and techniques to include Visual Studio IDE, Sparx Enterprise Architect UML design tool, and database management tools
Maintain and enhance existing C# applications using WPF, XAML, MVVM technologies
Design and develop visually rich and responsive GUI framework elements including custom WPF components
Work closely with members of the internal simulation development team to keep GUI in sync with inputs and outputs of the core simulation
Role will require significant amount of interaction with USAF Modeling and Simulation analysts and subject matter experts to understand and capture user interface requirements
Assist with management of backlog for GUI-related issues, analyze reported issues and assist with debugging and developing fixes, assist with preparation of system documentation (e.g., design documents, interface design documents, and user manuals)
Must be able to work independently and show initiative, but also communicate status and problems to other team members and supervisors
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent education and experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
3 + years of software design and development experience using C# with emphasis on multi-threaded GUI development using WPF and MVVM technologies
Experienced in developing interactive 2D GUIs WPF “DrawingContext” methodologies
Experienced in SQL database programming including SQL statements to query, update, insert, and delete specific data elements
Experience with distributed source code management systems such as Git or Mercurial
Experience with supporting full software lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with GIS data and visualization of complex data, SQLite database engine and optimization techniques
Python scripting language
Experience in modeling & simulation of modern combat aircraft, other ground-based and airborne systems, airbase defense systems, and weapons employment in engagement, mission, or campaign level simulations
Communicate well with other team members and balance shifting priorities to meet deadlines
Clearance Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship and current Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligibility.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
