ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Shipboard Maintenance Technician to join our team in Oxnard, CA (Port Hueneme).  This is an onsite position.

As a Shipboard Maintenance Technician, you will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Underway Replenishment (UNREP) Division’s maintenance efforts for Military Sealift Command (MSC) platforms. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting UNREP equipment, providing operational support and maintenance at the UNREP Test Site and aboard U.S. Naval Ships (USNS).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on UNREP equipment onboard USNS platforms during maintenance availabilities and at the UNREP Test Site

  • Assist with the overhaul of UNREP equipment such as the Navy Standard Transmission at the UNREP Test Site

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and ship managers to organize and complete maintenance tasks for UNREP systems

  • Assist with the preparation and planning of future UNREP equipment maintenance events

  • Complete detailed reports documenting ship visits, maintenance actions, and equipment support provided

  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, co-workers, and customers to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth maintenance processes

  • Use wiring lists, schematics, blueprints, and written/verbal instructions to route, tag, test, and terminate shipboard cables

  • Follow all technical manuals and safety procedures for safe equipment overhaul and operability testing

  • Perform other duties as assigned related to ship maintenance and operations

  • Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel both domestically and internationally for ship visits and maintenance tasks. (up to 50%)

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • 2+ years of technical maintenance experience (e.g., automotive, oilfield equipment, or naval technical rates such as MM, EM, BM, ET)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with UNREP and/or  other Navy equipment operation and maintenance

  • Familiarity with Shipyard and NAVSEA installation requirements and supporting documentation

  • Proficiency with reading and interpreting schematics, wiring lists, and technical manuals

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs, planks, or alleyways and work in confined spaces

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (computers, printers, etc.)

  • Capability to go onboard ships and work in an industrial and operational environment

  • Ability to climb ladders and go through scuttles onboard vessels

  • Occasional movement around the office to access files and equipment


The projected compensation range for this position is $52,900.00-$88,900.00.
