ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Herndon, VA
The Senior Systems Engineer with a strong background in Citrix and NetScaler technologies to join our team in Herndon, VA. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level systems that support critical applications and user environments.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage and optimize Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, ensuring high performance and availability.
Configure, deploy, and maintain NetScaler appliances (SDX, MPX, VPX) and Citrix Gateway solutions, including GSLB.
Monitor and troubleshoot user experiences and NetScaler operations.
Collaborate with network teams to design and implement NetScaler solutions with VLANs, subnetting, and LACP.
Automate workflows, develop NetScaler policies, and create custom HTML pages for enhanced functionality.
Document system configurations and support upgrades to maintain operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 11+ years of experience in the Information Technology field
Experience with NetScaler appliances, including configuration, deployment, and management.
Extensive hands-on experience with Citrix technologies such as Virtual Apps and Desktops (formerly XenApp/XenDesktop).
Strong knowledge of load balancing, application delivery, and secure remote access using NetScaler.
Experience monitoring and optimizing Citrix environments for performance and user experience.
Familiarity with Citrix Workspace and related services.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with SDX, MPX, and VPX appliances.
Experience architecting and designing Citrix Gateway solutions, including GSLB configurations.
Advanced knowledge of NetScaler Console for monitoring, troubleshooting, and management with a proficiency in NetScaler policy creation, including responder and rewrite policies.
Strong experience monitoring and troubleshooting XenDesktop user experiences in enterprise environments.
Familiarity with Citrix Virtual Applications and Desktops on platforms such as Hyper-V, Nutanix, VMware, and with tools and strategies for enhancing user experiences in virtualized environments.
Experience designing and installing NetScalers in collaboration with network teams and an advanced understanding of VLANs, subnetting, and LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol).
Proficiency in scripting and automation for Citrix and NetScaler environments and an expertise in identifying and resolving Citrix-related issues to ensure optimal end-user performance.
Clearance Requirements:
An active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Physical Requirements:
Use hands to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet
