ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Radio Technician to join our team in Doral, FL.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Possesses extensive expertise in the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of complex radio communication systems and equipment.
Leads complex projects, ensuring the highest level of system performance and reliability for critical communication infrastructure.
Diagnoses and resolves complex system failures and performance issues by analyzing system logs, error messages, and diagnostic data to identify root causes.
Contributes to the design and planning of new radio communication systems, optimizing existing systems to improve coverage, capacity, and performance, and evaluates new technologies.
Leads and supervises installation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, and coordinates with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Creates and maintains comprehensive system documentation (diagrams, schematics, specifications), generates detailed reports, and mentors mid-level Radio Technicians.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma required
7+ years of relevant experience with 5+ years of position-specific relevant experience.
Experience in radio communications technology, with a proven track record of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex radio systems.
Deep understanding of radio frequency (RF) principles, propagation, and antenna theory.
Expertise in various radio communication technologies, including analog, digital, and trunked systems.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing radio equipment, including transmitters, receivers, antennas, and control systems. Knowledge of network protocols and communication systems.
Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., FCC regulations).
Experience analyzing system logs, error messages, and diagnostic data to identify root causes.
Experience in leading and supervising installation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Knowledge of advanced radio technologies, such as software-defined radio (SDR) and cognitive radio.
Experience with network management and monitoring tools.
Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices for radio communications.
Experience with military/diplomatic operations working within a J-6/G-6/S-6 Directorate or with Special Operations Forces (SOF) or the Department of State (DoS) facilitating user access to and use of video telecommunications across multiple commands and agencies.
Relevant certifications in radio communications technology (e.g., FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL), ETA International certifications).
Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have an active Secret clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
