Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical systems administration support by engineering, documenting, delivering and maintaining the Windows platforms and applications in accordance with customer specifications and security guidelines.
Diagnosing and resolving the toughest performance, security, and/or technical challenges related to the platforms and applications.
Writing SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) to accomplish repetitive tasks.
Participating in processes throughout all phases of ITIL Service Lifecycle, including submitting Change Requests
Performing requirements analysis, requirements gathering, and integration for all platforms and applications.
Providing direction and guidance to less experienced systems engineers.
Responsibility for investigating and resolving operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.
Providing IT Systems Engineering support on a wide range of technologies, including VMware vCenter, Horizon View, Site Recovery Manager, HPAC Secure Printing, HP Blade Servers, HP SANs, Certificate Services, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policies and Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
Design, deploy, configure and administer complex network environments across multiple geographic locations.
Create and update technical and process documentation.
Skilled in the areas of enterprise architecture, cross-domain systems, platform engineering, applications, and databases.
Work with tiered support teams to resolve high-priority incidents, perform trend analyses, and update knowledge management repositories to ensure that similar incidents in the future can be resolved without the need to escalate to higher levels.
Use tools such as SNOW, Splunk, SolarWinds, and other log evaluation and monitoring tools.
Test and document new components.
Verify delivery of components and associated material and supplies to ensure compliance with the approved design.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience. A degree can be substituted by additional 4 years of experience
DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification required
Ability to obtain IAT Level III within 3 months of hire.
DoD 8570 Computing Environment Certification required within 6 months of hire; MCSA, VCP, or equivalent.
Experience with Microsoft Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019 Servers; Microsoft Windows 10; administering Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and workstation and server hardware; administering Microsoft Office 2010/2016; administering DNS, Group Policy, and PKI; administering vSphere, Horizon View, data backup, and antivirus software; basic networking including DHCP/TCPIP; experience with deploying workstation images; and experience with thin and/or zero clients
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Systems, HP SANs, VMware products
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Experience using a Service Desk ticketing system, such as ServiceNow.
Preferred Qualifications:
Outstanding customer relationship management skills
Ability to operate under minimal supervision.
Experience in the following areas: hardware/software security, router and switch communications protocols, network management, encryption techniques, firewall rule definition and authentication technologies.
Working knowledge of communication security (COMSEC) policies and integration
Good working knowledge of applying security best practices from DISA and/or vendors.
Basic networking
ITIL Foundations certification
Proven experience in managing VIP services or high-profile clients.
Security Clearance Requirements:
US Citizenship required and active TS/SCI clearance adjudicated within the last 6 years.
Candidate must be open to randdom poly.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
