ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for providing IT Architecture, Engineering, Technical, and Systems Administration support.
The Senior Network Engineer will work on work that is high profile and critical to our nations’ security. This position ensures effective execution of all network engineering tasks with the customer assigned projects. The position is also responsible for providing thought leadership for our clients while providing technical oversight for network solutions. The position performs a critical role in understanding the clients’ networks and strategies for interconnection, secure transmission, and special configurations. The position will be part of Program leadership and will regularly interface with client leadership and ManTech senior leadership.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design, implement, and maintain network systems as well as collaborates with teammates to create, implement, and troubleshoot new engineering designs
Translates requirements from internal stakeholders into engineering designs based on a standardized network architecture
Presents proposed changes to the standardized architecture to internal review boards as well as creates drawings and other configuration management documentation to track network changes
Troubleshoots switch, router, and firewall connectivity issues between various customer sites
Completes patching of all network devices (router, switch, firewall, etc.) in accordance with Sponsors policies and performs quarterly reviews of all network device access control lists and rulesets
Travels to various data centers in the WMA to support ongoing network operations and may require domestic travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant area (Computer Science or Systems Engineering) or Associate’s Degree and 10 years of relevant Information Technology experience
7+ years of relevant experience in Network Engineering/Administration
7+ years of experience leading and managing system updates, upgrades, problem tracking and reporting
Experience with managing a team and independently prioritizing resources with experience writing clear, concise, and user-friendly technical reports
Appropriate ND 50-05/DoD 8570.01-M Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Bastille Networks WIDS (Wireless Intrusion Detection System)
Clearance Requirements:
An active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 15 pounds.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
