MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior General Ledger Specialist to join our team at Bolling AFB Washington, D.C. This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze and interpret financial data to detect trends and identify needed corrective measures and processes to improve accuracy and utility of the General ledger and subsidiary accounts Experience

  • Analyze program trends/anomalies in accounting system transactions to determine effect on General Ledger and subsidiary accounts

  • Analyze and assess current and historical financial data for the purpose of developing special reports for use in improving the efficiency, accuracy and usefulness of Financial  Statement(s)

  • Determine if accounting transactions are consistent with prescribed coding and that transactions are processed in accordance with US Standard General ledger definitions

  • Evaluate the current status of accounting or reporting systems in relations to the effect on General Ledger and subsidiary accounts

  • Reconcile and evaluate the content, accuracy and timeliness of the General ledger and subsidiary accounts

  • Prepare both internal and external financial statements and reports, in accordance with federal requirements and accounting standards, to accurately reflect the activities and operations of the program

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of related experience providing interpretations of accounting reports, statements and data which points out trends, estimates the effect of proposed changes in operating programs on income, expenditures, obligation and costs

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Related Field (6 Additional Years of Experience in Lieu of a Degree)

  • Experience reviewing and resolving accounting discrepancies and using accounting information to recommend solutions to management

  • Knowledge of accounting theories, concepts, principles, and practices of accounting and financial management

  • Knowledge of sources of factual information about and related to processes of accounting systems, such as that found in accounting reports, payroll, records, work reports, or inventory and supply data

  • Skill in formulating, justifying, and/or reconciling assigned accounting systems projects/programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, Initiative requiring minimal supervision

  • Willingness to travel within the organizational geographic Area of Responsibility (AOR)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively Interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance Required to Start

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% 

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. 

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations 

  • Working with Data 

  • Move about freely in a laboratory setting 

  • Repetitive Motions


The projected compensation range for this position is $109,000.00-$181,500.00.
