ManTech seeks a highly skilled and knowledgeable Senior Database Engineer to join our team on customer site in Washington D.C. 

  

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the overall design, maintenance, enhancement, coding, and administration of the database schemas / databases and quality of data. 

  • Provide technical subject matter expertise (SME) on ingesting into the database from sources such as file systems and perform database maintenance. 

  • Responsible for SQL and PL/SQL development to include developing the backend reports to support user needs; developing custom scripts to automate various database management processes, monitoring and troubleshooting database performance; developing, optimizing, and tuning stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and queries in support of application development. 

  • Responsible for managing, monitoring, and administering database system performance and schedules, including monitoring the performance of system files and managing system data to maintain efficient performance. 

  • Recommending and implementing appropriate procedure, query, or package changes and optimizations/tuning to ensure and improve system performance and reliability. 

  • Participating in server and storage capacity management and planning for the most complex and critical systems.

  • Working with quality assurance/testing personnel to define acceptance criteria for each release cycle and testing systems as needed. 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline. 

  • 10+ years of IT experience with 8+ years of database experience. 

  • 2+ years’ experience working in a program using Agile (SAFe, Scrum and Kanban) and DevSecOps methods. 

  • Possess Oracle DBA certification and a MS SQL Certification. 

  • Significant experience with database and data architecture, data management and migration, database design, administration, and related technologies. 

  • Experience with Oracle database, Oracle database as a service, MS SQL, and Azure SQL database.

  • Hands on experience using SQL, PL/SQL, MySQL and other scripting languages. 

 

Security Clearance Requirements: 

  • Must possess a current / active Top Secret security clearance 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% 

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. 

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. 


The projected compensation range for this position is $138,700.00-$231,400.00.
