ManTech seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Senior Cloud Software Developer to join our Automation Development team in Hanover, MD.


This role offers an exciting opportunity to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and web services within AWS cloud environments. You will support mission-critical cloud automation efforts as part of a collaborative team working to improve the reliability, performance, and security posture of enterprise systems.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and develop cloud-native applications, user interfaces, and backend web services using Angular 10/16, Python/Django, and AWS (EC2/AMI, ECS/Docker, RDS/MySQL)

  • Automate provisioning of AWS AMIs across multiple platforms using HCL Packer, Ansible, and GitLab CI to support bi-weekly security agent deployments

  • Build and manage test datasets and support backend service validation and QA initiatives

  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Backend Engineering teams to enhance automation, security posture, and overall performance

  • Maintain and manage source code and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab within an agile team environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Twenty (20) or more years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university

  • Four (4) additional years of software engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Must hold an IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ or equivalent); candidates will have 60 days from program start to obtain it

  • Proven experience in full-stack development in a cloud environment, with strong programming skills in Angular (preferably v16), Python, and Django

  • Experience maintaining AMI provisioning workflows using AMI packer builder with GitLab CI/CD, including validation and public distribution

  • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as GitLab CI, Ansible, and Packer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in enterprise or government environments

  • Familiarity with cloud security and compliance practices

  • Knowledge of secure coding, cloud architecture, and continuous security integration

  • Familiarity with secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) principles

  • Experience using Ansible and Python playbooks to manage Ubuntu and CentOS servers

  • Proficiency in deploying and managing Docker containers using Kubernetes on Linux environments

  • Understanding of RESTful API design and database performance optimization

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate must be able to move, carry, and deliver workstations from the office to customer desks

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

  • Must communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email, phone, or virtual meetings, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $175,800.00-$312,200.00.
