ManTech seeks a motivated and customer-focused Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team in Herndon, VA. This opportunity is ideal for a highly skilled professional who thrives in fast-paced mission environments and is passionate about building resilient, scalable, and secure cloud solutions across AWS and Azure. In this role, you will partner with Solutions Architects and Cybersecurity Engineers to ensure our infrastructure is optimized to support critical federal operations.
 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design and implement secure and scalable cloud architectures tailored to mission needs, security mandates, and compliance frameworks.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud performance, cost efficiency, and availability; implement automation for scaling and patching operations.
  • Integrate cloud-native services including IAM, VPC, Key Management, CloudTrail, Sentinel, and Security Center within existing IT environments.
  • Support Zero Trust Architecture principles and implement robust boundary protection mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with security teams to meet and sustain federal compliance standards including FedRAMP, FISMA, RMF, and DISA STIGs.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across cloud environments, including network, compute, storage, identity, and logging components.
  • Develop and maintain cloud documentation including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and runbooks.
  • Work in close coordination with Solutions Architects, Cybersecurity Engineers, and key federal stakeholders to drive mission success.
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or 4+ additional years of cloud engineering experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering roles
  • Hands-on expertise in AWS and Azure environments
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Bicep
  • Strong understanding of cloud security concepts, including IAM, encryption, networking, and logging
  • Familiarity with federal security frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST 800-53
  • Experience with scripting (Bash, Python) and CI/CD pipelines
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of networking technologies including VCNs, Load Balancers, VPNs, Direct Connect, and FastConnect
  • Experience working across multi-cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI, and hybrid architectures
  • Background in DevOps, Kubernetes, or container-based deployments
  • Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and associated implementation strategies
  • Experience integrating cloud-native monitoring and SIEM tools such as CloudWatch, Sentinel, Splunk, or ELK
  • Familiarity with cloud observability platforms like Prometheus or Grafana
  • Experience delivering cloud modernization solutions for U.S. Federal Government agencies
     

Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be located within the contiguous United States
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
