MANTECH seeks a motivated and mission-driven Senior Acquisition Program Strategist / Systems Engineer to join our Air Force and Space Division. This is a remote position.

You will support a contract that provides full life cycle support to the United States Space Force (USSF) and Space Systems Command (SSC), Assured Access to Space (AATS) – National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program. This role directly assists SYS/80 across Systems Engineering & Integration, Future Architecture development, Acquisition & Program Management, Mission Integration, and other key mission areas. You will provide critical acquisition and systems engineering expertise supporting the SYS/80 Technical Director and the New Entrant Product Line Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

In this role, you will help lead and coordinate complex acquisition and systems engineering efforts essential to the nation’s assured access to space.

  • Support Government acquisition processes, contract analysis, and program management activities.

  • Develop, assess, and update program deliverables including schedules, project plans, RFPs, PWSs, and CDRLs.

  • Assist with Technical Board and Risk Management Processes while maintaining configuration control and documentation integrity.

  • Provide technical evaluations and recommendations for project execution, including award fee criteria and performance assessments.

  • Coordinate program integration, systems reviews, and interagency discussions to align technical and programmatic goals.

  • Engage proactively with USSF customers and stakeholders to meet key deliverables, objectives, and reporting requirements.

  • Support responses to higher-level inquiries such as congressional or PEO requests.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university; engineering degree preferred.

  • 9+ years of engineering or program management experience, including 3+ years in NSSL, Launch/Range, or Space Vehicle programs.

  • 3+ years of DoD or NASA acquisition/contracting experience with demonstrated proficiency in acquisition strategy and technical evaluation.

  • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering processes applied to SSC Launch, Space, or Ground Systems architecture and integration.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft collaboration tools such as Teams, JIRA, and SharePoint, with strong documentation and communication skills.

  • Experience supporting PPBE or similar programmatic processes and preparing complex technical and contractual documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a STEM field.

  • Professional certifications such as PMP, APDP Level II/III (Program Management or Contracting), or equivalent.

  • Proven initiative, sound judgment, and effective decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across organizations and present complex technical information clearly.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint-based collaboration tools.

  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional teamwork, multi-stakeholder coordination, and proactive problem-solving.

Clearance Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI clearance. Clearance is not required to start.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

  • May occasionally need to move about inside the office to access files, equipment, and meeting spaces.

  • Frequently communicates with colleagues, management, and customers—must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $103,800.00-$173,800.00.
