ManTech seeks a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Security Systems Technician to join our team at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington. This is an onsite position.
As a Security Systems Technician, you will support the U.S. Navy’s mission by installing, configuring, and monitoring a wide array of security technologies. In this role, you will assist with maintaining critical systems, ensuring they perform optimally, and contributing to the safety and security of the facility.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist in the development, troubleshooting, testing, operation, and maintenance of security systems, including Automated Access Control Systems (AACS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV).
Configure and install network security system components such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Programmable Logic Relays (PLR), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), fiber optic video and data transmission equipment, and IP-based packet-switching telecommunications systems.
Utilize electronics technician methods, basic electrical theory, technical manuals, factory specifications, schematics, and job orders to perform duties.
Create schematic diagrams, drawings, and sketches of security systems and components as configured. Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and issues.
Assist senior technicians with the installation and configuration of security and cable systems.
Adhere to industry safety guidelines and best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, OR, 6 or more years of related experience as a Security Systems Technician or in a related field, may be substituted in lieu of degree
2+ years of experience working with PLC, PLR, UPS, fiber optic video and data transmission equipment, and IP-based packet-switching telecommunications systems
2+ years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting security-related equipment components, including BMS, Maglocks, network cabling, serial cabling, solenoids, door strikes, electric door handles, and relays
Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
Practical knowledge of electronics principles and participation in security system installations.
Experience with network analyzing tools used for configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure security.
Experience using electronic test equipment such as multi-meters, function generators, mega-ohm meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and cable testers.
Understanding of low voltage systems installation and servicing.
Knowledge of basic electrical theory and National Electrical Code (NEC) for electrical and electronic installations.
Experience with proper conduit bending and wiring techniques, especially for fiber optics.
Proficiency in using network troubleshooting tools and techniques.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Secret security clearance prior to starting this position.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift materials up to 50 lbs.
Ability to kneel, stoop, bend, and climb ladders.
Ability to work in confined spaces or challenging environments as required.
Must be able to distinguish colors and comprehend telephone conversations, radio traffic, and annunciated alarms accurately.
