ManTech's Air Force and Space Division is recruiting highly talented candidates to support a contract that provides full lifecycle support to the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) Assured Access to Space (AATS) National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program (formerly the Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) program).
ManTech is seeking Top Talent as a Range Technical Training Lead for our US Air & Space Force program located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA.
Candidate must possess extensive knowledge of launch and range systems integration, project management and Range operations policy. Required experience in designing and developing instructor-led and/or web-based training courses and associated materials including slides, diagrams, student guides, practical activities, and assessments. Desired experience as a Range Operations Instructor and proficiency with personnel certification and evaluation guidelines and unit inspection preparation. Highly preferred systems engineering experience in use of Jira/Confluence, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Microsoft office products.
Responsible for developing, implementing, and conducting courses of instruction related to launch site training and range operations training or any general/specific functional area as required. Analyzes training requirements and objectives and identifies appropriate and specific training equipment, material, methods, and media. Coordinates the maintenance and development of training material as necessary to ensure integration with on-going system development and operations. May lead or advise customer during all phases of Instructional Design and/or training project management. May conduct complex courses from start to completion or assist other instructors and lower-level trainers in the classroom. Coordinates the development and delivery of training programs in support of complex products and procedures and/or for a major area or customer. May provide input to management for scope, schedule, and cost estimates. Updates course documentation to ensure timeliness and relevance. May assist in the development and establishment of the course content and objectives, and conduct training sessions, presenting information, directing structured learning experiences, and managing group discussions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serve as systems engineering and project management team member for Range innovation and improvement initiatives.
Interpret customer needs and through collaboration with subject matter experts and independent research, support the development of effective, high-quality training materials on matters pertaining to launch & range operation standards.
Support the development, implementation, validation, and update of operations training and course materials for the 2d Range Operations Squadron (2 ROPS) in support of launch operations for US Government and Contractor personnel.
Assist the Chief of Training in the administration of all training courseware, to include, scripts, tests, job aids, lesson plans, academic presentations, and other training audio visual support material.
Assist the 2 ROPS Training section with inherent training scheduling processes, to include daily training schedules, weekly training venue reservations, asset scheduling, training forecasts, and de-conflicting issues related to the associated requirements.
Track updates to training requirements associated with personnel qualification, certification, professional development, and ancillary training. Notify the Chief of Training when changes occur, provide recommendations to ensure program compliance and implement approved changes, to include, but not limited to, updating training plans, databases, records, and checklists.
Assist in training management processes, to include documenting training sessions, reviewing training forms for accuracy, analyzing sufficiency of forms, identifying new methods to increase efficiency of training documentation, and providing trend data on form usage.
Serve as the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) focal point for operations training and as such, shall assist in the development, update, administration, delivery and analysis of Instructor Certification Course materials and processes.
Provide metrics as requested related to the quality, timeliness, and applicability of conducted training to include error analysis, review board processes, and root cause analysis assistance.
Serve as an active member in the Rehearsal Anomaly Team (RAT) to develop and execute anomaly scenarios and scripts for Space Force Day of Launch rehearsals.
Serve as systems engineering and project management tea member for Range innovation and improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum H.S. Diploma
Minimum of 10 years experience
Minimum of 5 years of NSSL, launch/Range, DoD, or NASA training coordination experience.
US Citizenship is required
Experience in designing and developing instructor-led and or web-based training courses and associated materials including slides, diagrams, student guides, practical activities and assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM Discipline
Preferred experience developing Day of Launch and launch rehearsal scripts and products, coordinating, and managing events.
Preferred systems engineering experience with use of Jira/Confluence, Visual Basic for Applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
