ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Principal System Architect to join our team in Chantilly, VA. The position is onsite.

The system architect engineer implements, and manages complex IT systems, infrastructure, and teams according to best practices, ensuring they meet business needs and strategic goals. The System Architect will act as a bridge between Government stakeholder requirements and technical solutions, focusing on the overall architecture and components of a system. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Understand, engineer, and maintain the overall structure and components of IT systems, considering factors like scalability, security, and performance

  • Oversee the implementation of the designed systems, ensuring they are built and configured according to specifications

  • Direct, train, and guide the team to maintain and optimize the system performance

  • Work closely with various stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and end-users, to understand requirements and user experience to ensure alignment

  • Prioritize security and reliability in their designs, ensuring systems are protected from vulnerabilities and can operate consistently

  • Consider future needs and potential expansions when implementing production changes or processes, ensuring they can be adapted to changing circumstances

  • Ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of the system

  • Monitoring and maintaining the system to ensure it meets operational needs

  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that may arise

  • In-depth knowledge of computer and networking systems

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues

  • Knowledge of system administration and infrastructure management

  • Occasional travel to Washington, D.C., to participate in and lead meetings with our government stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of IT Administration or Engineering experience; an dditional 4 years of related experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree

  • CASP+ Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Systems, HP SANs, VMware products

  • Understanding of hardware, software, and networking technologies is crucial

  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring the smooth operation of systems

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL Certification

  • Experience with ServiceNow

  • One of the following certifications is desired:  MCSE - Microsoft Certified System Engineer, MCSE - Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, MCSA - Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, MCITP - Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional, VMware VCP - VMware Certified Professional, CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Administrator

  • ITIL Foundations or later certification highly desired

Clearance Requirements:

  • US Citizenship required and an active TS clearance adjudicated within the last 6 years.

  • Candidate must be open to Poly if selected by the customer

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
