Description & Requirements
ManTech is seeking an Engineering Technician to conduct corrective maintenance and repairs on failing or failed PSC hulls which includes mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems or system components. Repairs may comprise such activities as removal from the craft, dry docking for repairs or maintenance, disassemble of the equipment, and inspection to determine cause of failure.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide technical assistance for support on small engine or winch repair or other technical support outside the Boat House
Interact with OEMs as required to facilitate maintenance actions
Perform preventative maintenance on Project Support Craft (PSC) aluminum hull, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
Support the planning, conducting, and documenting all preventative PSC equipment maintenance in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications whether at sea or in port.
Support assigned PSC operations by providing layout coordination
Support the development of preventative maintenance schedules and provide annual maintenance action recommendations for repair or upgrades.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience supporting small boat craft maintenance
Rigger Training experience
Experience with close quarter ship handling
Experience with general boat maintenance, checking hatches and scuttles for watertight integrity, keeping bilges clean and dry, checking all electrical devices as well as all electronics for proper operation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting NSWC PCD projects
1600T Master license
First Aid/AED training
Experienced in crane operations and at-sea rigging
Clearance Requirements:
Must have a current/active interim Secret clearance.
U.S. Citizenship required
Required to get a CAC badge as well as Base Security Access approval
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 50 Lbs.
Work extensive time in stationary positions.
Climb and descend ladders.
