MANTECH seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Operating Environmental (OE) Engineer to join our team in King George, VA. This is an on-site position.
In this critical role, you will help ensure that the digital and networking backbone of the Aegis system enables seamless "detect-to-engage" capability for the protection of ships and battle groups.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
As an OE Engineer, you will provide digital infrastructure support for Aegis combat systems with a focus on system performance, diagnostics, and mission readiness. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintaining servers, routers, data buses (including fiber optics), and other digital interfaces
Ensuring communication between all combat system components across the Aegis suite
Using built-in and external test equipment to diagnose hardware and software issues
Troubleshooting integrated systems to identify and resolve failures
Loading, initializing, and executing diagnostic software to validate system readiness
Supporting the operation and functionality of Combat Information Center (CIC) consoles and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
Providing expertise for interconnected systems beyond the Aegis Weapon System to maintain overall combat system performance
Up to 50% Conus and Oconus travel to Hawaii, Guam, Spain, and Japan
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in the engineering, design, development, testing, maintenance (fleet support), build, installation, documentation, and/or configuration management of combat systems
6+ years of technical experience specifically within the Operational Environment (OE)
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and self-manage workload and priorities
Prior U.S. Navy experience as an Aegis Computer Network Technician is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of the Aegis Weapon System and operation of associated stations and consoles
Clearance Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship required and an active Secret Clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time
Must frequently move within shipboard or test lab environments to support troubleshooting and communications
