MANTECH seeks a skilled and security-focused Network Engineer to support the Cryptographic Solutions Program within the National Security Systems domain in Linthicum Heights, MD.
This opportunity allows you to directly contribute to national defense by securing critical communication infrastructures used by the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. In this role, you will help design, implement, and safeguard cryptographic networks that ensure data protection, compliance, and mission assurance across highly sensitive environments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Implement encryption protocols (e.g., SSL/TLS, IPsec) to safeguard data in transit
Configure and secure firewalls, routers, and switches within classified environments
Monitor network performance and identify anomalies using advanced diagnostic tools
Troubleshoot cryptographic implementations and resolve connectivity issues
Maintain and update cryptographic systems to address known vulnerabilities
Conduct technical risk assessments to evaluate network infrastructure threats
Analyze existing cryptographic methods and recommend enhancements or alternatives
Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to meet compliance and certification requirements
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of network architecture, policies, and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in a related field and 1 year of relevant experience; OR 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree
Proficiency in securing and troubleshooting core network protocols and components
Experience with Nessus, and system administration across Linux/Windows environments
Understanding of network security principles including segmentation and monitoring
CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent industry credential
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in cryptographic engineering or cybersecurity analysis
Familiarity with certification and accreditation processes for secure systems
Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community infrastructure programs
Clearance Requirements:
Must possess a current and active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and/or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations
The projected compensation range for this position is $138,700.00-$231,400.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
