ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Model Based Engineering Technician to join our team in Lexington Park, MD. This is an onsite position.

This technician will develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and parts lists for a variety of non-routine assignments of varied complexity in support of Navy aircraft and weapons systems modernization projects. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze engineering data to create and assess designs using design/schematic software

  • Construct experimental models and prototypes that align with engineering requirements

  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure adherence to these requirements, and undertake necessary redesigns based on test results

  • Meticulously record and evaluate data, and prepare comprehensive reports on findings

  • Develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and parts lists for a variety of non-routine assignments of varied complexity 

  • Receives technical advice from a supervisor or professional engineer and executes non-routine, complex assignments

  • May be responsible for guiding lower level technicians through tasking

  • Will have regular interaction with senior level personnel

  • Domestic Travel up to 10%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Technical or Scientific area and 6+ years of relevant engineering technician experience 

  • 4+ years of experience in installation of hardware and/or equipment

  • 1+ year of experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings

  • Experience using design/schematic software such as AutoCAD, SOLIDWOKS, MicroStation, or Altium Designer

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • A High School diploma or GED credential and 3 additional years of relevant experience, for a total of 9 years, may be substituted for the Associate’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Navy aviation systems

Clearance Requirements:

  • US Citizenship required and a current/active Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% 

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations


The projected compensation range for this position is $75,700.00-$126,300.00.
