ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mission Lead to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia. This is a hybrid position.

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mission Lead to join our team supporting the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Traveler Processing Vetting Services (TPVS) program in Ashburn Virginia. The mission objective is to provide operational support and modernization to the technology and applications supporting the processing of travelers at U.S. ports of entry. This critical program leverages agile methodologies to deliver secure, efficient, and user-friendly systems for CBP officers and the traveling public.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for all aspects of mission operations related to the CBP PSPD contract, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of mission-critical software development activities, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for mission-related communications with government stakeholders, program leadership, and external partners.
  • Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams, including software development, testing, and deployment teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Develop and maintain mission plans, schedules, and performance metrics, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations, security protocols, and contractual requirements throughout the mission lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the mission operations, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall mission success.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree (Permitted experience exchange: High School and 6 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree)
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and methodologies, including agile approaches.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with and present to government stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience in a leadership or management role overseeing complex technology projects or mission operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working on US government contracts, preferably within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certification.
  • Experience working specifically with CBP PSPD programs or similar passenger processing systems.
  • Familiarity with SAFe or other scaled agile frameworks in a government context.
  • Experience managing large complex geographically dispersed teams.
  • Knowledge of risk management and mitigation strategies within government projects.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.

Clearance Requirements:

  • CBP BI Preferred
  • Must have an Active Public Trust Clearance or be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
