MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mechanic Technician to join our vehicle sustainment team in Lielvarde, Latvia. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors.

  • Replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.

  • Maintenance support includes operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.

  • Effectively applies industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of qualified automotive maintenance experience. Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: tactical and commercial wheeled vehicles, tracked vehicles, power generators sets or construction equipment.

  • Proficient with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters.

  • Experience effectively applying industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components.

  • Must hold a current and active passport, ensuring a minimum of one year of validity from start date and the ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening.

  • High School Diploma or GED and must possess a Valid Driver’s License for the location in which the work will be performed.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Willingness to travel to various US or OCONUS locations.

  • Experience on FMTV, HEMTT, Trailers.

Clearance Requirements: 

  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.

  • Must be able to push, pull, and reach.

  • Must be able to work in high noise areas.

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.

  • Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
