MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Machinist to join our vehicle sustainment team in Waldmohr, Germany. The selected candidate will provide logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.
*Important Note*: Selected candidates without an ACTIVE German/E.U. Work Visa will be required to work the first 60 days in a Temporary role while obtaining their Visa. Once an E.U. Work Visa is approved, then you will be offered a Full-Time German Contract. If accepted, then you will be subjected to paying German taxes, obtaining German Healthcare, and working within the guidelines of the German labor system.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs the manufacturing operations for assigned TDL organizations. Manufacturing support includes operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.
Performs additive manufacturing, fabrication, repair, and modify metallic and nonmetallic parts to ensure equipment is operating reliably.
Operates lathes, drilling presses, grinders, welding machines, and other machine shop equipment.
Performs precision grinding. Selects the correct materials, tools, and equipment to do the job, and to operate fabrication machines.
Measures broken or worn parts using calipers, gauges and micrometers.
Draws working sketches, makes templates, consults shop drawings and selects materials.
Maintains and inspects hand tools and metal working machinery.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must obtain or already have an active Germany/E.U. Work VISA to be considered.
Ten (10) years of experience and a H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
Proficient with a variety of hand tools, power tools, lathes, drilling presses, grinders, welding machines, (CNC) Computer Numeric Control knowledge, CNC Milling machine, CNC lathe, CNC Plasma table, 3D Printing knowledge and other machine shop equipment.
Demonstrated experience in Blueprints, drawing working sketches, making templates, using shop drawings and selecting materials.
Preferred areas of experience on non-tactical/commercial vehicle fleets and/or military shall be with light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, ground systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle.
Experience with (CADD) Computer Aided Drafting & Design software and office productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; must possess a Valid Driver’s License for the location in which the work will be performed, a High School Diploma or GED, and a Passport valid for at least one year beyond the start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid German or European Work VISA.
Experience in technical support of complex U.S. military ground systems.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.
Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
Must be able to work in high noise areas.
Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard for long periods of time.
