ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Plans & Exercise Planner to join our team in Doral, FL. This will be a remote position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for ensuring operational readiness and response capabilities through the development, execution, and evaluation of comprehensive plans and exercises
Possess a deep understanding of operational planning methodologies, exercise design principles, and evaluation techniques, enabling them to create realistic and challenging training scenarios that effectively simulate real-world events
Provide meticulous planning and design of exercises, including conducting needs assessments, developing exercise control plans and scenarios, and coordinating with participating organizations
Contribute to the development and maintenance of Operational Plans, Contingency Plans, and Crisis Response Plans, working closely with Government stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and operational requirements
Exercise execution, they manage and control activities, provide real-time feedback, and facilitate after-action reviews to capture lessons learned and identify areas for improvement
Analyze exercise data and feedback to identify training gaps and operational deficiencies, recommending and implementing corrective actions to enhance overall readiness
Provides direction and mentorship to subordinate staff
Travel required 30% of the time as directed
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, homeland security, military science, or a related field or 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree
12+ years of experience with 7+ years of position-specific relevant experience
Demonstrated experience in operational planning and exercise design, with a focus on developing and executing complex exercises and training events.
Proven experience working within a Government or military operational environment, collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
Strong understanding of operational planning methodologies (e.g., Joint Planning Process, MDMP) and exercise design principles (e.g., HSEEP).
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in emergency management, homeland security, military science, or a related field.
Experience with Government exercise planning tools and systems (e.g., JTIMS).
Experience in conducting training needs assessments and gap analyses.
Experience with specific tools or technologies used within the Government client’s operational environment.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
Ability to provide strategic guidance on exercise program development and evaluation.
Relevant certifications in exercise planning or emergency management (e.g., Certified Exercise Planner (CEP), Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP)).
Plans and Exercise experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a Component down to an O-6 Level Command is desired.
Graduate of a military Intermediate Level School, Top Level School, and or a certified school trained planner school (e.g., SAW, MAWS, JAWS, WTI)
Clearance Requirements:
Must have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
