Description & Requirements

ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior Research Analyst to join our team in the Sterling, VA area to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within ManTech.  The selected individual will provide all-source research and analytical support as part of an integrated, agile team that will be responsible for using, developing, maintaining, and enhancing information and intelligence products, developing workflows for intelligence integration with law enforcement operations and delivering briefings and critical information in direct support to field operations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide identification and analysis of transnational criminal organizations and drug trafficking organizations, including analysis and communication of their means, methods, and routes.
  • Research and analyze intelligence data in the counterterrorism threat stream, synthesize intelligence information into relationship networks and threat priorities, as well as evaluate confidence level and completeness of the information.
  • Research additional sources such as trade, travel, criminal activity, and money movement to isolate actors, activities, and networks that represent threats to the US security or legal trade and travel.
  • Produce assigned and self-initiated intelligence products based on a thorough understanding of threats, conditions, and trends.
  • Communicate complex ideas and assessments in order to coordinate intelligence and operational elements within law enforcement authorities, including participation in analytical exchanges and meetings that covers one or more threat verticals.


Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience, an Associate’s degree and at least 4 years of experience or a high school diploma and at least 6 years of experience is required. a master's degree or a PhD can be substituted in lieu of experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in understanding large, complex transaction data, with the ability to synthesize information from large amounts of data
  • Experience with Intelligence Analysis
  • Experience in community and threat Identification
  • Experience presenting work to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience evaluating uncertainty in relationship data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in law enforcement or a classified intelligence analysis environment


Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S Citizenship with the ability to obtain DHS CBP Suitability is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
