MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Journeyman Data Center Architect to join our team in Doral, FL.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
A key contributor in the design, implementation, and maintenance of data center infrastructure, collaborating with senior Architects and Engineers to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
Assists in the design and implementation of new data center infrastructure, including physical layout, power distribution, cooling systems, and network connectivity.
Applies knowledge in the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) to develop, maintain, and analyze enterprise architecture artifacts, ensuring alignment with DoD policies, standards, and guidance.
Contributes to the development and maintenance of data center documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and procedures, adhering to industry standards such as the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
Researches and evaluates new technologies and solutions to improve data center performance and efficiency, participates in capacity planning, provides support for existing infrastructure (including troubleshooting), and assists in project implementation, maintenance, and upgrades.
Collaborates with IT Operations Teams for seamless service integration, monitors data center performance for improvements, assists in optimizing operations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, communicates technical information effectively, and receives guidance from senior staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
BA/BS in field necessary to assume Data Center Architect or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
4+ years of experience with 2+ years of relevant Data Center Architect experience.
Solid understanding of data center infrastructure components, including power distribution, cooling systems, network connectivity, and security systems.
Experience with data center virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V) and knowledge of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Familiarity with data center monitoring and management tools.
Familiarity with architectural frameworks like the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) and DoDAF and its views (OV, SV, TV), along with experience developing and maintaining DoDAF-compliant artifacts (OVP, SVP, CV).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with automation and scripting tools, such as Python or PowerShell.
Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices.
Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or similar are a plus. Industry certifications such as CDCP or CDCS. 8570 IASAE Certification.
Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have a current/active Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time.
Must be able to deliver clear and effective communication verbally and via email, phone, and virtual communication platforms to interface with co-workers and customers.
Must be able to occasionally move about inside an office environment to access file cabinets, office machinery, and communicate with co-workers.
