ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Inside/Outside Plant Technician to join our team in Kosovo.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Installing cabling and equipment in accordance with DoD TEMPEST standards.

• Terminating and splicing both copper and fiber optic cable and testing cable for signal quality, degradation, throughput, continuity, and availability.

• Performing cable plant troubleshooting, fabrication and installation to include, CAT 5/6, RJ-11, RJ-45 termination, and advanced fiber optic, media converters, copper/fiber modems repair/troubleshooting procedures.

• Working in conjunction with other regional OSP/ISP teams and assisting in the coordination of assigned projects and attending customer meetings and providing status updates to customers and senior management as required.

• Maintaining visibility and accountability of property assigned to the site and providing proactive and complete status updates of projects, operations, and maintenance to the local Site Lead as required.

• Working with DISA Telecommunications Service Orders (TSR/TSO), completing all associated reports/reporting to DISA and other government agencies.

• Establishing, maintaining, and reconciling stock records and other documents such as inventory and material control.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience splicing all types of fiber optic cables.

• Experience performing cable plant troubleshooting, fabrication and installation.

• Proficient reading design maps, fiber schematics, and basic electronic designs.

• Ability to install hardware systems such as cable trays, cable management and equipment racks to support telecommunication cable pulls.

• Must be able to obtain an ITIL Foundations 4 certification within the first 90 days of employment on this program.  

Preferred Qualifications:

• BICSI copper and/or fiber certification, FOA certification, or other industry standard copper/fiber install certificate.

• Proficient with Visio, Spectrum and Excel.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

• Constantly positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet

• Frequently moves Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing up to 70 pounds across and/or around a business campus or large facility.
