MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented IT Specialist to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA.  This is an on-site position.

This role provides direct support to the Advance Electronic Systems (AES) team and its customers. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Lead the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)—from initial hardware/software intake through final decommissioning—by analyzing mission needs, system variants, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) constraints

  • Design tailored system architectures and Secure Host Baseline (SHB) images using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK), and Group Policy; automate deployments with PowerShell for naming, policy enforcement, and post-build validation

  • Build, test, and replicate SHB images across platforms; apply Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs) using Evaluate-STIG and STIG Viewer; verify custom configurations, peripherals, and software loads

  • Validate system readiness through QA testing, including functional, security, and performance checks; ensure STIG compliance, remediate Nessus scans, and confirm recovery tools are operational

  • Deploy systems with precision—build Diagnostic and Recovery Toolset (DaRT) media, lead imaging operations, support users on-site or remotely, and verify operational continuity post-deployment

  • Maintain live systems through Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)/Nessus scanning, patching, ticket resolution, and vendor coordination; keep SOPs and fleet documentation current

  • Manage system end-of-life by securely sanitizing data, disposing of hardware, and completing all documentation for audit and future system planning

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years IT experience; 4+ additional years of IT experience can be substituted for a degree

  • Security+ CE certification

  • ACAS Operator/Supervisor training

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with network topology documentation in air-gapped environments

  • Minimum of 1 year executing full SDLC in DoD environments

Security Clearance Requirements: 

  • Must have current/active DoD Secret security clearance

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet

  • May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations
