ManTech is currently seeking a Human Performance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a part-time/on-call (PTOC) position supporting ManTech’s Human Performance Laboratory.
ManTech is in the process of designing, developing and building a Human Performance Laboratory in the Stafford Virginia area and has a requirement for several Subject Matter Experts/experienced professionals in fields relative to all areas of Human Performance research, testing, and evaluation to providing consulting services during the development and operational stages of the HPL.
The Human Performance Lab will collect and analyze biometric and cognitive data related to close combat by using physical and mental exertion, induced stress and dynamic decision making to provide useful information for selecting, training, and sustaining infantry personnel.
The HPL facility will employ physical fitness, Virtual and Augmented Reality tactical shooting scenarios, combatives, Visual Acuity, Recovery, and fully integrated data collection/processing to provide actionable information which could also influence future force design, advanced training programs, establish goals and waypoints, inform organizational leaders and directly enhance mental and moral fitness.
This is a remote position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide in-depth and relevant levels of expertise and experience in key elements of human performance analysis.
Work with Sensor integration and HPL relevant equipment and systems.
Provide introductions and coordinate meetings with relevant HPL related organizations and select personnel.
Work with potential customers/end-users in generating HPL related test-plans.
Provide assistance and support in the execution of select research, testing and assessments.
Participate in data collection, analysis, and processing to generate understandable, actionable products to the end-user
Participate in select teleconferences/virtual meetings
Travel to Stafford, VA as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years’ experience or HS Diploma and 15 years’ experience

Experimental Psychologists
Use Threat-agnostic biosensors and wearable sensors
Development and application of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality/Mixed Reality training systems
Selection and employment of appropriate physical fitness equipment relative to selected physical fitness development, assessment, and training objectives.
Cognitive research and studies
Infantry, special operations tactics, techniques, procedures, and training
Vision/eye tracking research
Applied Breathing Sciences
Stress Physiology
Human Survival in Extreme Conditions
Psychometric functions
Research/training of fear/stress cognitive functions
Any element of the HPL, to include physical/exertion, biometric and cognitive assessment methodologies.
Human physiology and neuroscience
Close Combat Lethality and training
Creating metrics for various use cases regarding developing and optimizing human performance
Selection and employment of appropriate physical fitness equipment relative to selected physical fitness development, assessment, and training objectives.
Sensor integration with HPL relevant equipment and systems.
Threat-agnostic biosensors and wearable sensors
Clearance required:
No security clearance is required for this role.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
