Description & Requirements
A Graphic Designer is being sought to support the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Counter Network Division, a hybrid law enforcement/intelligence division focused on identifying and disrupting activities of transnational criminal and terrorist organizations. The goal of the organization is to develop and disseminate products to other DHS components, law enforcement and intelligence community agencies to support their specific mission sets. Many of the Graphic Designer’s work assignments will be communicated orally by Leadership, team members, and the Graphic Designer will have to manage simultaneous tasks. This position currently offers a remote schedule which is subject to change as the customer sees fit. Only applicants local to the DMV area will be considered.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing professional Intelligence Community and Law Enforcement reporting material and tell a succinct, compelling story through the use graphic images and art Must be a professional self-starter with exceptional attention to detail, and who can work as part of a creative team, while also taking ownership of assignments and working independently
- Aid and assist a division to market itself and establish a clear and consistent message brand within the U.S. interagency. Ability to conceptualize, design, and produce visual solutions, in a wide variety of formats, that convey intelligence analysis to policy makers, law enforcement officials, and executives
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the graphic design field
- Must be a professional self-starter with exceptional attention to detail, and who can work as part of a creative team, while also taking ownership of assignments and working independently
- Ability to multi-task and simultaneously support both immediate graphic design requests while progressing on long term projects
- Ability to conceptualize, design, and produce visual solutions, in a wide variety of formats, that convey intelligence analysis to policy makers, law enforcement officials, and executives
- Ability to evolve, revise or redevelop creative products in response to feedback from stakeholders
- Ability to convert basic hand-written, digital, or verbally communicated concepts provided by government customers and turn them into professional-grade products that effectively convey the customer’s message
- Must have advanced working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Applications (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
- References and prior work product examples will be requested
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in web design. Ability to review, edit, and develop website design in various formats to meet stakeholder style, screen layout, and navigational format requirements
- Familiarity with PowerBI
Clearance Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS/CBP Clearance
- Must be eligble to obtain a TS clearance
Physical Requirements:
- Office work, typically sedentary with some movement around the office
