Description & Requirements

ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented GIS Data Steward to join our team in St. Louis, MO!

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Responsible for accuracy and consistency of geospatial data management, developing and maintaining data standards, and ensuring data is protected and compliant with office and agency regulations and standards.

  • Performs in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulates key findings.

  • Review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft, industry and agency standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic content.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging best practices in data management, governance, quality and stewardship.

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and adept at problem solving to address data-related issues and coordinate the implementation of data improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain data governance artifacts and support audits and compliance requirements.

  • Analyze complex data landscapes, identify data risks, and define mitigation strategies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of GIS experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in a Geographic field. Professional certification(s) in a relevant GIS field may be substituted for 6 months of experience.

  • 5 years of experience in geospatial data management, data governance, or data stewardship roles, preferably in a complex organizational environment.

  • Proficient in SQL and have foundational understanding of database technologies with the ability to analyze and profile data.

  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and their impact on data management practices.

  • Strong understanding of data management principals, data governance frameworks, and data quality concepts.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills

  • Proficient in ESRI suite of tools, geodatabase technologies, and web capabilities

  • Understanding of geospatial data metadata, standards, and implementation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ESRI Model Builder and/or Python/ArcPy experience

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
