Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Firewall Engineer to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design, configure, and deploy Cisco firewall solutions, including the Firepower Management Console, to protect network infrastructure from unauthorized access and cyber threats
Develop and implement firewall policies and rules that meet DoD and Navy standards
Integrate Cisco firewall systems with existing network infrastructure and ensure interoperability with other security systems
Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patches to Cisco firewall systems to ensure optimal performance and security
Troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related issues, including connectivity, configuration, and performance problems
Provide technical support and training to end-users and IT staff on Cisco firewall systems and features
Ensure Cisco firewall systems comply with DoD security protocols and Navy-specific cybersecurity requirements
Implement and maintain security measures, including access controls, monitoring, and logging, to protect network communications
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
Create and maintain detailed documentation of Cisco firewall system configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures
Generate reports on firewall system performance, usage, and security incidents
Collaborate with other IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of Cisco firewall systems
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of experience in firewall engineering, with a focus on Cisco firewall technologies
Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining Cisco firewall solutions, particularly the Firepower Management Console
Experience with Cisco firewall technologies (e.g., Firepower Management Console, ASA) and network security protocols
Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, SSL/TLS) and cybersecurity best practices
Familiarity with DoD security protocols and Navy-specific cybersecurity requirements
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a DoD or Navy environment is highly preferred
Clearance Requirements:
US citizenship and active Secret security clearance and
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Up to 25% travel or as needed.
