Description & Requirements

Currently, our Navy Aviation Division is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Engineering Technician to join our team in Panama City, FL.

Summary:

The Engineering Technician will perform simple routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures. Work is checked in progress or on completion. This Engineer performs one or a combination of such typical duties as assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting electrical components to support US NAVY LCAC SSC (Landing Craft, Air Cushion Connector)- (Ship-to-Shore) SSC / legacy LCAC and associated components at NSWC Panama City, FL, as part of a depot repair, refurbishment, and craft operation and maintenance team. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting

  • Performs such tasks as replacing components and wiring circuits

  • Repairing simple electrical/electronic equipment

  • Taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters and signal generators

  • Performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed

  • Selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents

  • Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed

  • Performs recurring work independently

  • Troubleshoots and corrects electrical malfunctions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with 3+ years of relevant experience

  • 3+ years of experience in using a variety of hand tools and precision measuring instruments

  • 3+ years of experience assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting

  • Experience with components and wiring circuits

  • Experience repairing simple electrical/electronic equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in confined/restricted spaces

  • Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team

  • Be able to communicate professionally with ManTech employees and ManTech clients

  • Must be able to observe and report findings

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

  • Proficient written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills

Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship required and a Secret security clearance

  • Required to get a CAC badge as well as Base Security Access approval


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 Lbs.

  • Work extensive time in stationary positions.

  • Climb and descend ladders.
