Join our dynamic team at ManTech International, where innovation meets excellence in advanced engineering. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Engineering Technician IV to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Underway Replenishment (UNREP) Division's maintenance on UNREP systems. This position is On-Site based in Port Hueneme, CA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with UNREP equipment overhaul during maintenance availabilities
Collaborate with ship engineers to organize advanced planning efforts and travel to ships to execute maintenance requirements
Complete troubleshooting to restore UNREP equipment to operational use
Become a subject matter expert in UNREP equipment maintenance and operation through on-the-job learning and training at the UNREP Test Site
Maintain detailed records of ship visits and support provided
Conduct UNREP Station material condition assessments and perform overhaul mechanical maintenance on Underway Replenishment equipment
Use wiring lists, schematics, blueprints, and verbal and written instructions to route, tag, test, and terminate shipboard cables
Communicate effectively with ManTech employees and clients, including delivering presentations and reporting findings
Support operational activities while adhering to shipyard and NAVSEA installation requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Five (5) or more years of experience directly supporting UNREP equipment maintenance OR Seven (7) or more years of experience in naval deck/engineering operations or other similar mechanical field OR Ten (10) or more years’ of experience in technical maintenance (auto, oilfield equipment, machine work, etc.)
Ability to travel within the Contiguous United States (CONUS) as required (up to 40%)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience performing assessments of UNREP equipment conditions.
Experience working aboard a ship and in a shipyard environment.
Experience using technical manuals and documentation related to shipboard operations.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb multiple stairs, planks, or galleyways
Capability to crawl and maneuver in confined spaces or bilge areas, if required
Operate standard office equipment and communicate effectively with co-workers, management, and customers
