Description & Requirements

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Director, Modern Software Development.

This is a Hybrid Position in Herndon, VA to attend meetings as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing and leading a software development practice within our Digital Transformation Division

  • This role encompasses strategic planning, team building, and technical oversight

  • Key responsibilities include defining the technical vision, managing software development projects, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that align with business objectives.

  • They also play a crucial role in building client relationships, driving revenue growth, and staying at the forefront of emerging technologies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience

  • Proven Leadership Experience: A successful track record of leading software development teams, including hiring, mentoring, and developing talent

  • Deep Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of modern software development methodologies, technologies, and architectures (e.g., Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, UX/UI, cloud computing, microservices)

  • Business Acumen: A strong understanding of business objectives and the ability to align technology strategies with organizational goals

  • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage complex software development projects, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and team members

  • Capture/Proposal Management: Demonstrated success in leading capture and proposal efforts for deals greater than $50M

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: A passion for innovation and the ability to identify new market opportunities and develop innovative software solutions

  • Consulting Experience: Experience in a consulting environment, with a proven ability to build strong client relationships and deliver value

  • 10+ years of US Federal Government Industry Knowledge

  • P&L Responsibility: Experience managing a software development P&L, including revenue generation, cost management, and profitability

  • Advanced Degrees: An advanced degree in computer science or a related field

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain up to a secret level clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
