Description & Requirements

As a DevOps/System Engineer, you will Maintain data files and control procedures for a system of networked computers or for a single group of microcomputers linked to a host workstation, or mainframe Maintain system security and data integrity Assign passwords and monitor use of resources, back up files as required and work with management to define requests for information. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze user needs, concept of operations, and architectures to develop system requirements.

  • Analyze system requirements, evaluate alternative designs, and conduct feasibility studies.

  • Develop technical documentation.

  • Guide system development and planning and prepare system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.

  • Interact with the Government regarding problems, issues or conflicts.

  • Support verification and monitor the technical quality.

Basic Qualifications/Capabilities:

  • 20 years of systems engineering experience. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university. 5 additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.

  • Experience with:

  • o   Red Hat Enterprise Linux

    o   Puppet/Ansible

    o   Bash/Python/Ruby

    o   Git/GitLab

    o   RPM Packaging (spec)

    o   VMware/KVM

    o   Infrastructure/Hardware Knowledge

    o   Networking

    o   Docker/Podman

    o   Structured data such as JSON/YAML/XM

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • TS/SCI Poly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in architecting, deploying and general administration of Splunk to include infrastructure planning, data collection and comprehension, development and integration, configuring data inputs and forwarders, data management, creating/managing user accounts, and general troubleshooting and monitoring. 

  • Cloud experience


The projected compensation range for this position is $109,100.00-$181,100.00.
