Description & Requirements

ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Database Engineer/Administrator III to join our team in Ft. Meade, MD.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the design, development, support, and maintenance of the organization's database systems, which includes managing hardware, software, and network components.

  • Managing vendor or open-source database software, optimizing database objects for enhanced performance, conducting capacity planning and usage forecasting, and providing comprehensive technical reviews.

  • Overseeing the support for database administration requirements, making recommendations on technical direction, extracting and loading data, establishing cybersecurity measures, managing hardware and software updates, monitoring performance, overseeing the configuration of servers and databases, maintaining data integrity, handling sensitive data ethically, and overseeing technical support to database users.

  • Supervising and mentoring subordinate project and ICON Innovation Collaborative (IIC) staff members.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related discipline and nine (9) years of position-specific relevant experience.

  • DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level II Certification within 6 months of commencing work on the Task Order.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Development or related discipline. 

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.

  • DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level III Certification. 

  • Relevant industry standard certifications such as Oracle, Microsoft or AWS.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
