ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Center Engineer to join our team in Mclean, VA. 

The Data Center Engineer will work in support of the Sponsor to provide expertise in maintaining critical infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Installing various hardware, completing service orders, performing routine operational and hardware maintenance

  • Responding to customer requests quickly and resolving technical problems effectively.

  • Participating in coordinated, scheduled maintenance activities with multiple parties in multiple locations, following standard procedures.

  • Completing daily floor checks involving the ability to understand and assess server health status and continuous quality assurance.

  • Implementing and performing red-line updates of circuit designs and documentation, maintaining data center documentation, rack elevations, cable run-list, inventory, and more.

  • Flexible with schedule and travel between Sponsor locations as needed.

  • Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for various needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years relevant Information Technology experience.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with enterprise Data Center, hardware installation, Tier I/II maintenance and troubleshooting, testing fiber optic and copper cable infrastructure.

  • Ability to read, manage power loads, and maintain thresholds.

  • Understanding of cooling and air-flow management.

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment in order to rack and stack hardware and maneuver inventory.

  • Ability to perform hard-drive, DIMM, battery, fan, power supply replacements.

  • Ability to navigate HP BIOS/Dell IDRAC, maintain/track inventory, and review/implement/perform red-lines of circuit design and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with monitoring tools.

  • Experience with MS Products; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.

  • Experience with VISIO or JIRA software.

  • Ability to read and comprehend network and storage designs.

Clearance Requirements:

  • An active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently moves Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across and/or around a business campus or large facility.

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations

  • Constantly positions self to maintain equipment, including under desks and in network closets.
